The School Year has Ended.

6th Graders, this morning I find myself saddened that you are not coming through my doors for social studies. I find myself wishing we had another week to learn together. I find myself waiting for the bell to ring and for class to start. I find myself feeling so fortunate that I had the opportunity to be your teacher and in your life for these short 9 months.

I thought you all did such a great job this year with effort and enthusiasm. I have had a blast working with you and getting to know you. I just want you to know that I think each and everyone of you is a special kid. You are all unique with different talents, which makes my job the best in the world. My last words for you is this: as you continue to get older, please make good decisions. Please work hard and try your best in all that you do. Please be a nice person who looks to help others. Please remember to be respectful.

What does life have in store for you? I guess we shall find out. But know this: you can be great. You just have to want it. Go out into this world and make a difference.

World Premiere: 2011 Wax Museum

Watch the video and relive the Wax Museum. Thanks to your hard work and dedication, it was a night like no other. Remember always what you did that night and the differnece you made in the life of one deserving kid. Also, don't ever forget that you met the challenge and did a great job. It is the goal of the Wax Museum to instill confidence in you that yes, you can do it. You are smart. You are talented. You are important. Thank you to all. I am very proud of you.

The 1,000 Word Challenge

Ladies and Gentleman, we have reached our final days together. As the time winds down for this school year, we have one last opportunity to blog on Water for Sixth Grade. This is your last chance to show me, your classmates, and the world how much you learned this year and how smart you truely are. Throughout the course of the last 9 months, you have learned and experienced much as 6th graders. Today, on Water for Sixth Grade, you shall begin to reflect and share some of the memories from this year. The 1,000 word challenge is in its third year and it is now time for you to meet the challenge of writing 1,000 words. For this blog post, you have many angles and options to write from to reach 1,000 words. To reach 1,000 words, tell me about the following:

Social Studies: White Shirt productions, I Series, Johnny Rawten, Water for Sixth Grade, social studies league...What did you think? What did you learn about all the ancient civilizations? Try to tell me a few things from each ancient world we learned about.

Wax Museum: What did you think was difficult? What was your favorite part? How did you feel on the night of the Wax Museum performance?

School Projects: What projects did you like the best? Which ones will you remember?

Miscellaneous: Tell me about anything else you would like to share from 6th grade that had an impact on you, or is something you will remember for a long time.

If you are able to reach 1,000 words, you will recieve a massive amount of extra credit. But in order to reach 1,000 words, you will have to put forth a strong effort. If you do not reach 1,000 words, you will still recieve some extra credit, but just not as much. Your extra credit will be based on how many words you get to.

This is your chance to really reflect on 6th grade. I can't wait to read your posts. Good Luck and I probably don't say this enough, but I appreciate your hard work this year. I am very proud of you.

Presenting the 2011 Joust Champions

Water for Sixth Grade would like to present to you the 2011 Joust Champions. (From Left to Right): Kaitlyn, Macy, Lexi, Morgan, Sammie. These five girls were able to withstand the pressures of the Joust tournament and emerge as Champions. In a tournament that pushes each individual to the limit, these five girls were able to take on everything throw at them and rise to the top. In a tournament of skill, luck, and destiny, these five girls reigned supreme. In each joust championship, it is female vs. male and in 2011, the joust tournament made history by have zero male champions. Congratulations to these five girls for being Joust champions and earning World Wide fame!

A Medieval Quest...

Welcome to the Medieval Times WebQuest. As the name implies, this is a quest of Medieval knowledge. You will explore the Internet to discover and learn as much as you can about the Medieval Times. Through this project, you will come across some review things and some new things. No matter what you meet on this quest, take it head on and accomplish your task. Like the I Series, you must accomplish each task given to you. Be confident, be strong, and good luck as you attempt to conquer the Medieval Times WebQuest.
