Wax Museum 2012 is Over
Students, our big night is over. I can not express enough how proud I am of all of you. I was just blown away by the preparation, the effort, and the creativity that was put forth tonight. It was simply amazing. All night, people kept telling me how cool the Wax Museum is and how wonderful all the kids looked. I was unable to listen to everybody, but I did see everybody and I was definitely impressed. The Wax Museum is not an easy thing. Standing for an hour and a half, doing so much talking, and the warm air made the Wax Museum challenging. You should feel a tremendous sense of accomplishment and pride with what you did tonight. You get a Wax Museum night once in your life. I think we definitely took advantage of our opportunity. Let us all breath a collective sigh of relief and know that we put on a great show. Now it is time for you to relax and enjoy the Red Team's performance on Thursday Night.
The 2012 Wax Museum has Arrived...

Final Wax Museum Preparation
In a few short days, the Wax Museum 2012 will be here. We started way back in October 2011 and now here we are, on the doorstep of one of the greatest and memorable things you will do in your middle school life. Please do not let this opportunity pass without making the most of it. This is something you will remember for the rest of your life. It would be an absolute shame if you let the Wax Museum come and go without putting forth your maximum effort. Now that we are so close to the Wax Museum night, it is time for me to give you the "Wax Museum Final Preparation"

Medieval Times Partner Prezi Project
Time to roll up our sleeves and get to work. You and a partner will be joining together to select, research, create, and share. We are all going to become experts in a specific topic of the Medieval Times. We will then create a dynamic Prezi and share our hard work and knowledge with the rest of the class. This project will take some time, but that is okay because we have 3 straight days in the computer lab. This is a rare occurrence, so be sure to take advantage of this opportunity. The Medieval Times offers some fascinating topics, so lets dig in and see whats our there.

Wax Museum 2012 Preview
Students, I would like to introduce the 2012 Wax Museum Preview Show. One week away. Time to start getting excited for our big night. Spread the word about the Wax Museum. The more people the better!
Welcome to the Medieval Times: Detective
Today we enter the world of the Medieval Times. It is our last unit together. We have come along way this year. Starting with the Neanderthals of the Stone Age to now the Medieval Times, which only took place roughly 500 years ago in Europe. We have covered a lot of ground and learned many things. To break into the Medieval Times, we are going to become Super Sleuths (detectives) to learn about some of the types of people that lived in the Medieval Times. There are eight types of people from the Medieval Times on the loose. In order to capture them, we must figure out who they are. We have their names and we also have some clues as to their identity. Use the clues to figure out who they are.
Medieval Times Detective Game
Task #1: Using the Medieval Times detective game, write down clues on your CLUE SHEET about each of the 8 suspects.
Task #2: Post a comment telling me what type of person all 8 suspects are and how their PICTURE CLUE relates to them.
Objective: Figure out what type of person each of the 8 suspects are.
DUE: In-Class blogging.

The 100 Year Anniversary of the Titanic Sinking...
This Saturday, April 14, 2012 marks the 100 year anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic. This beast of a ship was said to be unsinkable by its captain. Water for Sixth Grade would like to take this opportunity to remember the Titanic and all the lives lost in this tragic event. To commemorate this day, WSG is honored to have a Guest Blogger and Titanic expert, Olivia, share a few words:
"The titanic set sail April 10 1912, to say goodbye people threw flower petals in the water. In a book i read the man who designed the titanic was talking to captain smith and said: I think we should arrive in new york a day early and surprise all the passengers. I think they were going too fast and thats why they hit the ice berg. When the titanic began to sink, it broke into two halves. Once both halves hit the bottom of the ocean, they were 2,000 feet apart. I think this is interesting because it has a very unique story and interesting to learn about. This one man named Jack Thayer survived the Titanic and when he got older, people were studying the titanic and said that it didn't break in half. Jack proved that it did break in half. I hope you watch the movie!" -Olivia K.

2012 Wax Museum Dress Rehearsal

The dress rehearsal has arrived for our 2012 Wax Museum. You will give your performance in front of the class. Remember the things we talked about: speak clearly, smoothly, loudly. Don't be a robot while talking. Be lively, Be energetic, Be enthusiastic. If you act bored, the audience will be bored. Its okay to let it all out and be "into" IT. Don't just give a speech, give a PERFORMANCE. We don't want people leaving the Wax Museum think they just got done watching a school project. This is so much more than that. Give them what they want to see: a SHOW. We want them to be entertained. We want them longing for more. Talk with confidence and share with the world all abut your famous person. It is time to get serious and dominate the 2012 Wax Museum. Good Luck at the Dress Rehearsal. Look for a video preview next week.
