Egypt Pre-Test Results

We took a pre-test on Ancient Egypt to see what our prior knowledge is before we tackle this unit for the next four weeks. Ancient Egypt is interesting in that some of the information about this place is quite common, such as pyramids, mummification, the Nile river, etc. However, have we just heard about them? Or do we know about them? There is a difference. The Pre-Test accomplished its goal of shining a light on our prior knowledge of ancient Egypt. Here are some results:
Overall average: 46%
Top student individual score: 87% (very good!)
Number of questions that less than 50% of the students answered correctly: 25 (38 total questions)
Percentage of students who knew what mummification is: 94%
Topics of difficulty: specific steps of mummification, gods/goddesses of ancient Egypt, pharaohs, and the effect of Nile River.

  1. Without laws there would be no rules so people could steal, fight, and more.So basically without laws there would be fights every where and the world would be a horrible place.

Without writing there would be no way to communicate and record stuff. Also scientist could not know about the past if they could not right.

Without the wheel we would have no chariot and without a chariot we would have to walk every where. If we had to walk every I think that would get exhausting. So i think the wheel plays a big part in our lives.

Without money you would have to trade a valuable thing for a another thing you need. That is why i think money is valuable.

Without book you would have nothing to write or record on and you would have nothing to read. That is why books are valuable.

Without bricks we would have to make our houses out of straw and mud. So then are house would be easy to light on fire,be attacked by soldiers, and you could get robbed of your stuff easily. So that is why bricks play a big part in our lives.
