Our Ancient quest Begins

It is time to begin our Ancient Quest. Three years ago, I wanted to find a novel that my students could read that would be entertaining, exciting, but yet still teach them about the ancient worlds we study. I could not find such book, so I decided to write my own. I created Johnny Rawten, who is the main character in my books. In book 1, called "Johnny Rawten," he is a 6th grader who discovers that he has the ability to time travel to the ancient world. Throughout 6th grade, he has amazing adventures. At the end of 6th grade, he is faced with a choice: time travel again or go to the spring dance with his girlfriend. He chooses the dance, which he regrets immediately for he lost he chance at another adventure. Johnny spends the next 5 years desperately searching for another time warp portal. No matter how hard he tries, he can not find another time warp portal to go back to the ancient world, that is, however, until he is presented with, the Ancient Quest....

Overnight Assignment

Hello! Congratulations on making to this website without my help! Good Job. Whether you are in Study Hall, at home, or at a friends house, I hope you are doing well. I must say, I have really enjoyed the first days of school this year and getting to know you all.
Making it to Water for Sixth Grade was the hard part, now all you need to do is unlock the "secret code" below. Simply click the link, write down the secret code on your paper, and you are done! Easy huh? Yes, but it's important for me to know who can and can not get to my website without my help.

A Quick Look at the Ancient Worlds

This week is all about assessing where we are at ability wise so we can move forward with our first ancient world: Stone Age. Today we are getting a little overview of all the ancient worlds we will be studying. Because of this, I would like you to do some digging into these worlds and I want to see what you can find. I have provided many websites for you to sift through. They are located on the right side of the website under the "Ancient World" widget. Your goal is to tell me ONE thing about each of the 8 Ancient worlds we study this year. It needs to be a complete sentence and it needs to be a piece of information. NOT AN OPINION. An example of an opinion: "I think Ancient Egypt's pyramids are cool." Don't do opinions. Tell me facts, information.

Task: Post a comment with 1 fact about each of the eight ancient worlds. Use the websites provided. It needs to be a fact.
Example of what your comment should look like:

Stone Age: (type your fact here)
Medieval Times:

DUE DATE: This is an in class activity.

A reflection of the Past...

So you made it to 6th grade. Finally. I would like to welcome you to Water for Sixth Grade. I am glad you are here. At this site, you will find all kinds of stuff! Review tools, information, assignments, projects, announcements, due dates, etc. You will also find a bunch of other stuff that's not school stuff, but just for fun. We will be using Water for Sixth Grade a lot throughout the year. We will rely heavily on "WSG" once we enter the Realm of Social Studies. It will be your most powerful weapon in your pursuit of victory. Today, we must practice using Water for Sixth Grade so you can become comfortable with it. I want you to be a fearless blogger. A Water for Sixth Grade All-Star. So, let's practice.....

Task: I want you to think about your elementary years and do some reflecting. I want you to tell me about your elementary years by answering the following questions: Where did you go to Elementary School? What is the number one thing you remember from elementary school? Who was your favorite elementary school teacher? Why??  What did you learn in Elementary School?  I want you to tell me anything and everything about your elementary school time. Good Luck.
